Redeemer Mayhem

Redeemer Mayhem is a dual stick shooter mobile game by Movytouch. 

Objective:

  • Create a Fast-Paced Dual Stick Shooter

  • Develop in short period of time

My Responsibilities:

  • Documentation (GDD, LDD, TDD)

  • Game Design

  • Level Design 

  • Designing and debugging tools alongside programmers for level design

  • UI Design

  • Researching and implementing pipeline to have high quality terrain for mobile devices

  • Helping develop a framework of tools that can be used in multiple projects

  • Integrating and optimizing art assets into the engine

  • QA management

Level Design Tools

Alongside the programmers I helped design, test and use a robust level editor tool that allowed us to...

  • Set up enemy spawners

  • Set up enemy patrol patterns

  • Set up enemy waves

  • Spawn weapons and collectables

  • Visualize level collisions

I created 12 levels using this tool

Level Terrain Pipeline for Mobile

To use unity hand painted terrains in mobile devices without affecting performance I devised this pipeline

  • Create and hand paint a terrain with Unity Terrain tool

  • Using an external plug in to converted the terrain into FBX

  • Convert a second FBX with less polygon resolution for collision

  • Using an external plug-in to get a high resolution texture from the painted terrain

  • Export the FBX to Maya and slice it to use Occlusion Culling in engine

  • Adjust UV map using high resolution texture previously generated by the plug-in

  • Assemble back in Unity
